SAMAJIK UNNAYAN SANGSTHA (SUS) is a Non-profit, humanitarian and voluntary organization
that is established in 1986. Since the early beginning of SUS, it has been working for neglected
and deprived people carrying with elongated experience on some specific social issues such as-
Education, promote human rights and good government, Women Empowerment, Capacity
building, Livelihood Improvement, Gender Equality, Agriculture Development, and
Development of Person with disabilities, Health, Water & Sanitation, Education, Disaster
Mitigation & Management and social forestry. Basically, SUS intended to involve women,
children, Gypsy community and disable people in myriad development practices where they
would undergo equal opportunities, mobility and dignity in an equitable society.
Thinking about such beliefs and expectations, at the outset, it started to work Kumarkhaly
Fishermen groups, Gypsy community, disadvantaged women & Children and people with
disability. So, SUS established school for children with disability, formed women group for
strengthening women group and adopted programmes for poor and disadvantaged people in
order to promote and transform their lives so that they could lead a life of dignity in the society.
And finally on 5th January 1986 saw the birth of the organization in name of SUS at Union-
Dhapdopia, Upazila-Nalchity of Jhalokathi district, as an acronym SUS focused on human rights,
women empowerment, child development and equitable society.

SUS is led by young & motivated super team. A number of full-time and part time staffs have been working with SUS for its smooth operation. SUS is also involved volunteers to run its activities.
